Chili Dog Sauce

I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things to have for dinner, especially during the hot summer months is Coney Islands. In order to make Coney's you have to have a few staple ingredients...which of course would be your hot dogs, buns, cheese, onions, and sauce. Instead of buying the "glob in a can" type sauce, try making it from scratch. It's super easy and taste so much better.

Chili Dog Sauce
1-lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
1/2 Tblsp. sugar
1 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tblsp. prepared yellow mustard
1 (15-oz) can tomato sauce
1/4 of the tomato sauce can of water

In a medium skillet cook beef and onions until meat is no longer pink. Drain fat. Return meat & onions to pan and add in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Allow mixture to cook for about 15 minutes. (Sauce will thicken as it cooks.) Serve over hot dogs.
